He's a flying whale. First off whales, even baby whales, are huge. Secondly he's a flying whale. He just wouldn't really fit anywhere...

Spot is an orca. Not a whale. Orcas are a member of the dolphin family, believe it or not, despite them being called Killer Whales. And at this point I would think it would be known that sea creatures are generally hard as hell to place in any kind of thread. When Stitch had Nemo, she had that issue. When I had Squirt, I had that issue. Cadpig had that issue, too, when he had Sheldon. So even if Spot was allowed, whoever took him probably would have problems putting him in threads.

Are either of the Gwythiants up for claims? I might be interested in grabbing one for the HV after I'm done with my lion character. If so do they have any background on them.

You might want to wait to claim any other characters. Just until you've played around with what characters you do have. When they get approved.

I'm interested in picking up Tarzan so I've done some creeping around. ^^; Jane's profile said Tarzan and Kida were together at some point and in another thread it was stated that if someone were to pick up a character that was previously played they had to continue any plots previously established, so I want to make sure I know what I'm getting into.

Can anyone help fill me in on Tarzan's past and/or point me to some key threads? It would be much appreciated!

I don't believe so. I think she had an encounter with Clopin, maybe, but I honestly can't remember what her last player did with her. If anything.
