Deja Vu

Ray rose a good point. Tiana hadn't seen Mama Odie for a while either. She hoped that she was alright, not only because she was a friend, but also because she may be the only way, or at least the only safe way, of returning her husband to his human form.
"Where was she last seen?" she asked, looking to Ray. She worried for Naveen if she could not be found, but also for Mama Odie herself - if she hadn't been seen, could something have happened?

((Yay I'm glad I found this thread my Mama Odie muse has been running low and I NEEDED a place for her.))

Mama Odie was making her way through the camp, she had heard something big had happened to Naveen. Though she didn't stick around for the details, just grabbing an arm full of medical supplies and a spellbook and a basket full of potions, charms, talismans and anything else she might need.
"Naveen! Ray..." She shouted trying to move as fast as her old legs could carry her (which was more of a light jog than an actual run.) "Where are ya'll? I got a whole mess o' stuff if'n ya'll need it." She paused for a moment panting. "I'm startin' ta think Mama Odie's gettin' to old fer this."
She leaned against a tent poll panting somewhat, Juu fanning her with his tail.

Well, that certainly answered the question of where Mama Odie was! Ray quickly turned around and found himself looking in his friend's direction. That was definitely a relief; now he wouldn't have to go looking for her, and neither would Tiana, Louis, or Naveen. Even better, now he could explain what had happened. "Mama Odie! We're over here, an' we gots ourselves a real problem!" Ray called. He decided to shorten the distance between Mama Odie and himself by flying her way, coming to a stop nearby so that he could explain the situation better.

"Ah don't quite know all de details, but from what ah gather Capp'n got himself inta a bit of trouble. All ah really know is dat he got himself turned inta a frog again somehow." Ray explained. Poor Naveen, indeed. It must have been so difficult to be the froggy Prince right then. So difficult, and yet nobody really understood it. "Cher tried kissin' him ta turn him back, but it didn't work. We was gonna try an' find y'all so we could ask fer help." he said.

"Well don't that just beat all." Mama Odie said after a moment of very stunned silence. She let out a long sigh and rubbed her temples for a moment. "I best go see dhat boy right quick. Hopefully dhe curse can be reversed an' nothin' to awful painful ta get it un-done."
She walked quickly, or as quickly as a hundred plus blind lady with a limp and a bad back could walk, knowing that Ray would point the way or Juju would lead her.

Although Ray didn't think Naveen would be in any particular peril if he stayed a frog, at least for the moment, he did know that it would be best to have his friend get looked over as quickly as possible. If anyone knew anything about magic and reversing spells, it was Mama Odie. So naturally, Ray wanted to do what he could to help Naveen by bringing Mama Odie to him. "Dis way. Ah don't know how long it's been since he got hisself changed, but it don't seem like it been too long." Ray told her. He began to flit forward again, moving slowly enough so that he didn't get too far ahead of Mama Odie but efficiently enough so that he wasn't just appearing to hover in one spot, and back toward Louis, Tiana, and Naveen.

"Ah just hope he ain't gonna be stuck like dis fer long." Ray said. He obviously had faith that Mama Odie could do something, but just what she had to do was something that had yet to make itself clear. Whatever happened, Ray could only hope like Mama Odie that whatever was required wouldn't be too painful on Naveen's part.

Mama Odie cocked her head to the side as if to listen for Naveen. "If I know more about dhe circumstances dhat got him changed I might be able ta change him back."
Already Mama Odie was thinking of how such a thing could happen, she'd not heard of someone having a reversed spell coming back on it's own. Usually a spell that came back, particuarly a spell broken with a kiss, could only come back if the kisser took the kiss back.

And since Tiana was Naveen’s wife and they were still very much in love that was unlikely. Then a thought crossed Mama Odies mind, Tiana was under the same spell Naveen was.

"What 'bout Tiana?" Mama Odie said suddenly worried at the new thought, her brow wrinkling and her usually smiling mouth turning into a deep frown.
"If Naveen's been changed back it's very likely she will be changed too since they were both under dhat spell."

"Actually... Tiana has not been effected."

Naveen hadn't thought about it before, but it did seem strange. Why hadn't Tiana been changed back? Was it only because he had been in the proximity of Yzma and Tiana had been safe in camp? Whatever the case, Naveen felt the need to close the gap between him and Mama Odie so that he could hop on over and try to get the situation resolved. "Is there any reason why she would not have been changed back into this state? I cannot think of one, but it appears to be true." he said. Confused froggy Prince was confused. Why had he been the only one changed? Was that little cat a lot more competent with magic than she appeared?

"What if it was a different sort of spell?" Tiana asked. She was no expert on this, Mama Odie knew a lot more than she did, that was for sure, but if she hadn't also been reverted to a frog as Naveen had been, even after kissing him, maybe it was a different kind of magic. Maybe she'd have to have been hit by the same spell to be turned back into a frog too. "Do you think you can fix it, Mama Odie? Or will we have to find the cat who did this?"

"Run back into whatever territory she's in? Animal villains with claws and teeth and such? Human villains with magic and hunters, WITH GUNS?" He took a breath and shook his thick skinned head. "No way, Miss Tia, ah ain't letting you nor the froggy prince go into either place. Not you and not him when he's a froggy." Though he never added that he wasn't willing to go into either territory either. "Nuh uh, Miss Tia," Louis stated, "There ain't no way. We gots Mama Odie on our side, we c'n figure out how ta fix Naveen pronto."

Louis believed in Mama Odie the way a kid believes in the magic of Santa Claus. "You can do it, can'tcha Mama Odie? You can break the spell or science or whatever hoobidajoo that kitty cat cast on Naveen?"
