"No agendas here, Wilbur. I mean, you're my friend. I really do want to try and help you out. ...Even if I end up screwing something up." Ling said. He wasn't going to lie when he said he wasn't the greatest at figuring out how girls worked. Ling barely knew how to handle himself around Ting-Ting. It didn't help that she had all but disappeared recently, so interaction with her had been severely limited. "So, relax! I'm not going to ask you to do my chores or anything like that. I just have to figure out how I'm going to be able to get you and Shanti together. That's going to be a challenge in and of itself." he said. How was he actually going to succeed in getting the two kids together without a hitch? Hell if he knew. Ling was a doofus if there ever was. If he could somehow get them together in any manner that didn't involve stick shenanigans, it would be nothing short of a miracle.

He could only shake his head at Wilbur's last statement. "You don't know the half of it." Ling said. Girls back in China seemed to ignore his very existence. He'd tried to make them laugh, but they didn't seem so inclined to take on his doofiness. Mulan and Ting-Ting so far had seemed like the only girls that didn't mind it. "It'll be interesting, that much I know for sure. We'll just have to see what we can do about this. ...Lover boy." the last part was followed by a snicker. He couldn't resist.

Wilbur's face turned red again. Damn it, why did Ling have to do that. "Shut up." wilbur muttered. At least Ling wasn't his mom, his mom finding out about this would be way worse, way way worse. But then again, maybe Ling was somehow related to him, a great great uncle of some sort. One could only imagine. "As long as you don't start singing romantic songs i think we can make it work."

"C'mon, you know it's true. If I can see it, the whole camp can probably see it. Might as well get a bunch of flaming arrows and shoot a message in the sky. At least then maybe it would be a little less obvious." he said. Of course he was just kidding around, and the way he had suggested would make it even more blatantly obvious, but a little bit of teasing couldn't have hurt. Just to really make it clear that he was kidding, though, Ling lightly tapped Wilbur's shoulder with his fist.

"And you can totally trust me. The last thing I'm going to do is break out into song for the purpose of setting the mood." Ling said. It was still a possibility, though. The chances of it actually happening were ever so slim, but that didn't mean Ling would just avoid the possibility all together. "Nah, what we need to do is get you two alone together where no one can see you. Maybe like... the jungle or something. I'd come along, of course. Just in case something stupid happens." he said. That, and to make sure it goes off without a hitch. he added silently.
