Remy almost flinched at Ray's touch, but upon recognizing his friend's face, he relaxed. He sniffled, rubbing at a wet eye. "Thanks Ray," he gasped, trying to find his breath. "And I...I'm so sorry about R-Rapunzel...she seemed so nice..." He jumped a bit as Penelope approached him, but once again relaxed at her words. He gently nudged her paw in sadness.
"A-and you...were...were you Pepper's sister?" Remy choked back another round of tears. "I-I tried to help her...I-I'm so sorry...sorry that I couldn't s-save her..." He let another few tears slip loose as he hugged the pup's paw.

(Sorry for the wait, buddy xP)
Gingerly resting a hoof on the rabbit's shoulder, Bambi shook his head. All he could feel was misery for his child-hood friend. But it was a shared misery. Glancing over at his own father's grave, the young prince knew that he had thought the same exact things back at The Great Prince's death. Even to this day, Bambi longed to back into the past and save his father, throwing himself into death, instead. But the light-brown buck knew that wouldn't have been what his father would have wanted. And Bambi knew quite well that Tessie wouldn't have wanted Thumper to be thinking like this. "Don't think like that, buddy, one day, you'll be with her and my father, prancing around in great big fields, running away from her while she tries to give you great big hugs and kisses, just like when we were kids," Bambi reassured Thumper, brown orbs landing on Tessie's grave.
"She wouldn't have wanted you to think like this, pal," The young prince stated, nodding his head a bit. "Tess was a strong girl, I think that she'll be just fine until you join her when it's your own time," Bambi murmured, patting Thumper's shoulder a few times. "There was nothing more you could have done, no matter what you say, it was her destiny," The light-brown buck confimred before straightening back out and staring sorrowfully down at the grave.

Her destiny? Her Destiny?Maybe it was the way that Bambi phrased that that really made Thumper feel even worse then he did. "Her destiny? What do you mean her destiny? You say that as if it was her time too die. You say that as if she deserved that. BAMBI, MY SISTER WAS INNOCENT She didn't do a damn thing to anyone. She was just there. I am sorry Bambi , I really am but what do you mean by her destiny? What the Hell did she ever do wrong to anyone? What the Hell had I ever done to have her taken away from me? "Thumper sobbed out.

"I-I.. am, yes", Penelope answered with a sorrowful tone and listened to Remy's words with utter disbelief. This rat was there when her sister was killed? Penelope swallowed heavily and didn't say a word for a while, she just nudged the rat's back softly with her snout. Despite her loss of words she managed to stutter few words. "D-don't be sorry... I'm sure t-that P-pepper would've a-a-appreciated it... That you tried. I appreciate it. T-thank y-you for trying t-to take c-care of my s-sister..." she sobbed while tears streamed across her white fur.

It went straight over her head. Crescent was sure Partner loved One like she loved him. An admiration and a care that the pup didn't recognize as being in love with someone. Maybe someday she'd realize it but at this moment there were flies buzzing around in her head instead of synapses which would clue her in on her own feelings as well as Partner's. She placed a paw on Partner's back an gave him a warm, empty brained smile. She was trying to make him feel better. "It's okay Partner," she said, "Remember what I said? She's up there playin' with Lucky n' Penny n' Rebecca. Finally takin' a rest from all that responsibility." Every time she talked like that, Partner felt a sharp pang of anger that he forcibly crushed before anyone could see it. He didn't want to think that Annabelle was so happy up there that she forgot all about the rest of them. He wanted to believe that maybe, just maybe, he'd meant as much to Annabelle as she had to him, wanted to believe that she was watching over him the way he knew he would have been over her had their roles been reversed. The thought of One forgetting about him to chase 'buggies' and play with Lucky got under his skin something fierce. " Please stop saying that," he mumbled, his forhead not leaving the cool gravestone it was pressed up against. (ooc: appologies for short post, there wasn't much else I could say here ^^")

Femme was sure her words would make Partner feel better. But his whisper was enough to get her to close her mouth and plant her rear and the ground. Paw retracting, the femme lowered her head slightly. Not in sadness but in respect. Her eyes shifted back and forth, not sure what to say.
"Okie dokie," she whispered, "Zipping my lips." She made the motion before lowering her paws again. She had nothing else to say.

Post by Collette on Apr 21, 2012 0:26:54 GMT -5
Collette had fallen silent as well. The fluffy cocker mix hadn't been all that sure of what to say when Partner had started talking more about Annabelle or when Crescent had said she would be up in the heavens chasing bugs. Would Scamp be doing that? Or would he be too busy worrying over what was happening to Angel? Collette didn't pretend to know, but she hated staying silent like she was. She moved just a couple of steps closer to Partner and lowered her head respectfully as she paid her own respects to Annabelle. She may not have known the dalmatian, but she did at least want to offer her own respects to her.
"I'm sure she hasn't forgotten about you. She's... probably watching over you right now." Collette said after a moment. It was only a guess, of course. Collette didn't know how the afterlife worked and didn't pretend to really grasp what might have been out there in the unknown. She did, however, want to try and reassure Partner that Annabelle hadn't forgotten him. How could the dead forget their loved ones? It just didn't make sense.

That, finally, was enough to bring Partner's head up, and his eyes met Collette's, the male's darker orbs, more than anything else, conveying a sense of relief that someone else had voiced exactly what he hoped was true. At that moment, Partner almost felt as though he could have hugged the cocker for saying that, but quickly decided against it - he wasn't really one for initiating physical contact, especially with someone he'd really only just me - settling for giving her a grateful smile instead. "Thanks, C- wait, A- no..." Partner cut himself off, mentally face-pawing. He was never going to be able to remember which of the two pretty cocker girls was which. "...thanks." he repeated hurriedly, trying to cover his blunder with the names before Collette could notice.
