Oh yes, I will. Dotty didn't care if Scruffy was the superior fighter, didn't care that she was clearly the weaker party, didn't care that history had taught her that Scruffy would beat her into the dust time and time again. No, Dotty's mind was not her own at that moment, overtaken by fury and the desire for reckoning. She didn't care about Zira, the other murderer of her cubs, sitting above them all. She didn't care about a single thing other than making her daughter's murderer pay for every drop of Nia's blood that had been spilt. She'd go down herself if needs be.
Then, unexpectedly, Bellatrix stepped out and placed herself between Dotty and her target.
Dotty growled, her grey fur bristling up and her lips pulling back to reveal her own sharp canines. Any shock at Bellatrix's sudden appearance was shoved aside by her need for blood. She would go through the silver lioness too if she needed too. Her amber eyes locked with Bellatrix's crystal blue as she made to move forwards once more.
"Nadra..."
No one had bothered to call her by her real name since her mother had perished in the fires of Priderock. The whisper caught her off guard and like a bolt of lightning, Dotty's senses returned. The madness in her eyes faded back and she was herself once more. She stopped, staring at her former friend as if she had only just realised her presence. How long had she been there? Why had she come?
"What about Kuzimu, Nadra? You want revenge? Fine. You go get revenge. You ignore me, you go over there, and you go take it up with that thing. But you take it up with that thing, and you don't come back. You go take it up with her, and Kuzimu doesn't have a mother anymore."
A choked sob ripped from Dotty's throat at her words, harsh as they were, they were the truth. Dotty couldn't win, not now. She was what Scruffy had always told her she was: weak. Her will to fight had left her. Kuzimu...she hadn't even thought of her cub, her last remaining child, when she had been so eager to throw her own life away in revenge. She let Bellatrix drive her back, away from Scruffy and her daughter's lifeless body.
"She...Nia...She--she--" Dotty couldn't get her words out, grief had won out "Nia...why? Why? She only came to get me...she wasn't supposed to..."
