ACTIVITY

Before I begin this announcement, I want to say that I don't have to do this. I could have just slapped down this rule and not given a crap what you guys had to say about it. However, I respect you guys enough to think you should have a bit of input.

I've been on RP websites where there is a posting requirement. It's for active sites just like DWoW. They'll have something like a rule where they say "you must post at least once every week" or twice or whatever. I'm honestly thinking we need something like that here since our activity level has dipped as of late. Don't get me wrong, if you have a legit reason for not posting nobody is going to force you to. But it irks me and all other very active members when they have to wait forever for someone to respond and then they never return.

So here's what I'm proposing: Either we have a rule like the above where all members must post with at least once of their characters once a week, OR we could have an activity check, let's say, every two weeks. The two week activity check would require you to provide just a post of one of your characters just so we know you are being active.

I realize we're busy. But DWoW moves pretty fast. I just want to make sure people want to keep up.

Also can I PLEASE HIGHLIGHT THIS AGAIN.

Try and use punctuation and proper grammar. I know we're all capable of spelling mistakes but please try your best. Capitalize your words and pronouns.

Some people are really not abiding by this rule and its irritating plus hard to read by the other people on this site. It's also rude when some people spend hours typing up a perfect post and then another member replies sloppily with hard to read grammar.

For those of you who need help with grammar here's a tip: Before posting, post your reply in Microsoft Word, Pages, or whatever you use to type up papers and such. Then hit spellcheck. It'll help out a lot.

i personally think that the rule of once a week might work better for some people. But the activity check twice a week might also help. My vote would be for the activity check every two weeks. Just so it gets back on track

I'd be ok with both of these ideas... it might pick up activity. Personally speaking, it'd certainly motivate me more (at least when it's laziness keeping me from posting it will xD)

I'll try and be more active too - whatever works picking up activity should be used, methinks...although if I may make a personal plea for my friend who plays Violet - her laptop is still broken, she gets on when she can, and is also thinking about how she can improve Violet's posts. [I'm helping her too, so hopefully she'll be more active as soon as her computer's fixed.]

I'd say the first one, at least one post with at least one character per week... for purely selfish reasons because there's no way I'd be able to get enough posts with all my characters to participate in a full activity check every two weeks.
