PM Etiquette

I really, really didn't want to make this announcement, but this problem needs to be addressed before it gets out of hand.

When I don't immediately answer your pm, I'm most likely doing something else at the moment. That is not an invitation to send me a dozen more pms. As if that isn't annoying enough, some people are completely disregarding the rule about bugging people via pm about threads. And yes, subtle and not-so-subtle hinting counts. When someone nags me to respond to a thread, that only discourages me from typing a reply? Why? Because it's obnoxious and obnoxious stuff drains my muse. Sorry. That's just how it is.

Look, I get it. You're excited about a thread. But that's what the 'We Need You' thread is for. Pestering me via pm isn't going to make me respond faster. Especially if my muse is low. If anything, it only slows the process.

This goes for the other staff members because apparently, they're dealing with the same problem I am. In fact, this goes for all members. Please keep in mind that people need their space and that the 'We Need You' thread is there for a reason.

If this is about me, my last PM was simply to tell you about the timeskip. I wasn't asking you to reply, and I made that clear. And pretty much all the other ones were trivial, asking how you were and if you wanted to chat on Skype. I'm sorry for being sharp. x.x

I receive a lot of pms on a regular basis and when I'm expected to respond to one (or three) immediately, I get overwhelmed. And too many people had nagged me about threads via pm, so I felt it needed to be addressed.

Regarding the 'trivial' pms, I'm running out of ways to say 'Fine' when I'm asked 'How are you?'.

Look, you're a nice person and the last thing I want to do is hurt your feelings, but you are kind of annoying people with your constant pming. Sorry. I wish there was a nicer way to say this, but it's the truth. I've tried hinting and I even reminded you about the rule, but nothing seems to work. I wouldn't have said anything if I was the only one going deal with this, but unfortunately that's not the case.

Just tone it down a bit. People need their space.

Double post but what the hey...ok, here goes. First off I'd like to say I had a think over stuff and I'm not impressed with how rude I was to you in this thread just because of my stupid pride being damaged. Second, you're right, I shouldn't have pm'd you that much - I was wary of annoying you, but not wary enough I guess. I suppose I just got too carried away wanting to chat to you in general; thing is, I love it when you come on Skype so I get to talk to you, but you don't seem able to get on that much, which is fair enough, you're busy. Thirdly, I'm not saying this to be a suck-up or to make myself look good. I would have sent this to you privately but it would have kinda defeated the point of it. I'm putting this here to say I'm sorry for being an ass, and I won't PM you unless absolutely necessary in future.
