Fun Sized

(July 19th Closed to Badger and Cresent)

Badger wandered throughout camp, blue and brown orbs bright as she did so. Today was turning out to be a better day than expected for the spotted female. No, nothing really spectacular had happened, but she finally felt as if that ever-present weight on her back had vanished. The constant feeling of her failure was finally beginning to fade, which was a huge relief. The black-eared canine finally felt like she could help, seeing that she hadn't completley failed in battle the other day. No, she wasn't an amazing fighter, but Badger had at least proven that she could do something. And that was more than enough for the mixed-eyed dalmatian.

Bounding through camp, Badger headed out, going towards the watering hole. She felt as if she was deserving of a nice drink. Although, the spotted female had steered clear of swimming after her near-death experience! Reaching the pool of water, the black-eared canine dipped her head into the water, taking a long, slow drink. Poking her head back up, crystal water droplet slipped off of her speckled muzzle, dropping onto the sandy ground and drying almost on contact. "Boy am I lucky I've got such a short pelt," SHe murmered to herself, smiling slightly.

There was a little black and white blur rolling back and forth on her back by the watering hole. "Waa! Waa! Waaa!" She was making strange squeaky little noises of pleasure and fun. Her ears flopped backwards in the grass as she waved her paws up in the air and swung them back and forth, back and forth. Doofy little thing was not trying to scratch and itch, nor did her back hurt. She was just trying to have fun!

She heard a splash from a tongue and she looked up between her legs. "BADGER!" She shouted. She moved trying to lift herself from her back to sitting on her front legs. "Eeeeh! Eeeeh! Eeeh!" She panted, tongue lolling out of her mouth.

"I'm stuck."

Glancing up, Badger quickly was able to make out her adopted sister, Cresent. Walking a bit closer to the wacky pup, the black-eared canine tilted her head, frowning slightly. "What are you-" She began only to realize that she was stuck. Bounding up to Cresent, the spotted female stared at her for a moment before stick her nose under her adopted sister's back and rolling her over. "There, now you're all better," The mixed-eyed dalmatian woofed, giggling slightly as she took a step back from Cresent.

"What were you doing all the way out here, by yourself?" Badger asked, a hint of confusion in her voice. It somewhat worried the spotted female that Cresent was out by herself. She was easily to prone to accidents, so knowning that Cresent was out without Partner made Badger somewhat nervous. The black-eared canine knew quite well that it wouldn't be a very bright move, though, to mention her thoughts. Cresent was just so sweet, Badger couldn't ever imagine hurting the pup's feelings, in such a way.

"Ehehehe, thanks Badger!" Crescent scratched behind her ears as she spoke, getting her slender foot stuck in her collar. She started to try and shake it free. "I was going-eh-out to-meh-play. Partner's busy doin' somethin'. I was bored!" She flopped onto her stomach and wiggled her foot free of the blue collar. "There we go," she proclaimed happily. She leaped up and trotted back towards Badger.

"What are you doin' out here Badger? Did you come to explore? I love exploring! This one time I was in the swamp on the farm and I fell in a hole." Yeah, that was how she worked, random as ever.

Exploring? Uh, that's a big no. I could get hurt or lost or drown again. Yeah, that's really not my style...

"Exploring? Uh, yeah, sure. Exploring is uh..."terrible, scary, dangerous"a lot of fun!" Badger woofed softly, looking up at her adopted sister, grin plastered on her face. Racing off into the unknown, that was a big NO for the black-eared canine, but she didn't want to seem boring in front of Crescent. She at least wanted to make an attempt at impressing one of her siblings. Crescent was like a clean slate, for her. Someone who had been too doofy to realize what a loser she had been back at the farm. The spotted female wasn't aiming to take advantage of her adopted sister, not at all. It was just the loneliness in the former outcast's heart that drove her to make an impact on Crescent.

Yeah, Badger had friends, but they were all older than her. The only real friends she had that were her age were Dusty and Cadpig, both of which it had felt like forever since she had last seen. Pushing Crescent's random comment about falling down holes out of her mind, the black-eared canine shuffled her paws glancing up at Crescent. "D-Do you wanna explore?" The former outcast asked quietly, mentally cursing at herself for even thinking of such a thing.
