Date: Feb. 9th open to all Lars's intro thread
Despite it being pitch black outside, Laron was used to it. After all, he had been born underground in the lair of the thieves, so he was an expect at navigating through the dark. He sniffed the cool, dark air as his brown eyes glanced around the barren landscape for any signs of life, and the soldiers that lived out here.
"Hello?" he called, his voice lilted with a slight French accent to it. "Is anyone here?" he howled, his long ears swaying in the wind.

The voice was strange. Not only was it unfamiliar, but the words had a strange manner of pronunciation, certainly unlike anything the gorilla had come across before. Still, strange voice or not, a new recruit was a new recruit (assuming that was what he was, and not an imposter).
Instead of answering the canine's question, Kerchak merely opted for his usual method of first impressions: big, quiet, and intimidating.
"Why are you here, dog? Why do you come to the Outlands?"

"You got a problem with dogsssss, monkey boy?"
A silky, solid voice bounced on the air as the female carried herself across the cracked dirt. What a dump! And that was coming from a dog who lived in a dump. Butch was right...this place was a mess. Her pointed ears picked up the french laced voice plus the gruff voice of the ape. She smirked. Time to go make herself known. Despite her size, she could be a force. She wasn't going to let this ape think he could shove her around. The male dog either.
So she placed herself right at the ape's feet. "Why does anybody come to the outlands?" She asked, "To join up."

"Why are you here, dog? Why do you come to the Outlands?"
It had worked. If Kerchak was trying to look scary, and Laron knew he was, it had worked. Swallowing nervously, the male opened his mouth to speak, but instead of his own voice, another sounded, and he glanced over to see a small female dog arrive.
"Why does anybody come to the Outlands? To join up."
"She's right sir, I have come to join your army. I'm Laron, or just Lars if you wish to call me that," he stated, turning his head to address the female as well. "I take it you just got here too?" It was good to have another new soldier with him. Maybe they could be buddies?

"Well, well, hello to the newbies. I see you already met General-" He paused as he looked at the smaller of the two dogs before breaking into a broad grin. "Don't I know you from somewhere?" he asked, plopping down some feet away from the gorilla. "The pound, right? Yeah! Ha ha ha!" His paw slapped the ground as he laughed roughly. "Remind me of your name. And Lars, it's good to meet you," Reggie smirked.

Before the ape could answer though, a lumbering canine wandered onto the scene. Her fur prickled a bit, eyes narrowed towards him.
Reggie.
She'd never heard him talk. She didn't know he had the ability. The pound though...her thin muzzle rippled in a snarl. She did not want to remember that HUMILIATING chapter of her life. As short as the chapter was. "The name," she finally spat out, "Is FISH. And I'd be happy if you didn't bring that wretched place up again. If you PLEASE." Every word she emphasized held poison on it. She snorted in the brute's direction before turning back to the french dog.
"Bonjour," she purred, giving him the one French word she knew with a smile, "I'm Fish. Nice to make your acquaintance, my friend."

Lars shrank back once more at the appearance of Reggie. This guy was huge! Lars was ever so thankful that the dog was on their side, and not the human villains. Not that Reggie looked like he would fit in there. "I'm sorry about the pound..." Laron mumbled softly before grinning at the name. "Fish? That's kinda funny, how did ya get that name?" He smiles, giving a nod to Reggie.

"Alright, alright there girly, easy," the big dog snorted held up a paw to try and calm her down. "Ah won't," he smirked with that overbite. The massive dog coughed to clear his throat before turning to Laron. "Now, where do you come from? Is that a French accent I hear coming from you?" he asked as he settled back on his haunches, relaxing in front of the two dogs and silver-back.

Kerchak glared down at the small canine at his feet. She wasn't scared of him, and that was fine. He never intended to make people quake at the sight of him - just to realise that he was a dominant figure, not to be trifled with lightly. It all stemmed back from his days of protecting his family.
However, though he was not all bothered by the fact that she wasn't fearful, he was by the fact that she had an impudent air. Nothing irritated him more.
With a grunt, he moved a couple of paces away from Fish, and turned yellow eyes to Laron again. That is, until Reggie lumbered in. Apparently, he recognised short-and-annoying - sorry, Fish - and she wasn't too happy to see him. There was talk of a pound, whatever that was. Kerchak didn't care. It meant little to him.
He remained silent as the conversation continued.

"I hail from Paris, France. You're correct about the accent," he answered, giving a small, skittish smile as he stepped away from Reggie's huge bulk and more towards Fish. "I take it you've never been to Paris. It's quite a beautiful city. Well, it was before the war happened." His head lowered as he gazed at the ground. "Kinda reminds me of when Frollo nearly burnt down the damn city looking for Esmeralda." He looked back up between the two dogs before focusing on the big one. "What's your story, Reggie?"
