We've Gotta Get Her Back!

"HA!" Mooch gave the sarcastic laugh with a roll of his eyes. Angel? Go alone to the Outlands? That was a laugh! Tani was HIS friend, not hers, and Scamp was counting on him! Though the sheepdog did agree with her on one thing.

"Dude, you should stay here, look at you! You look worse than those gazelles Nala brings back from the hunt with all the blood and stuff." He glared at Angel, yellow eyes narrowed, walking over to her and getting in her face. "Like I'm letting you go to the outlands to get MY friend. You'll probably mess things up." Pointing a large paw to her foot, he pointed to the bandage on her foot. "'Sides, it looks like you've had enough anyway." He looked up at his friend, watching the blood drip from his muzzle and mouth. "Don't worry, Scamp. I'll take care of it! I'll bring Tani back for ya!"

"And YOU wouldn't?" Angel scoffed. "You don't know the first thing about subtlty. You'd march right up to the first villain you saw and demand 'Tani's release. Then someone else would have to come and collect all the little pieces they'd left you in." She shook her head, iritated. "Anyway, I owe it to her after... the water hole incident."

Scamp chewed on his lip - the part that hadn't been shredded by Khan's claws - as he watched. He hated to admit it, but they were right. He couldn't go anywhere with these injuries bleeding everywhere.

"You wouldn't say that if it was..." what was her name? "...was Rita we were talking about." Scamp snapped angrily at Dodger. Angel firmly turned his head back towards her and continued to dab at his wounds. Scamp winced as the damp cloth stung, but held his glare on Dodger. "What part of 'they're going to kill her' do you not understand?"

Ouch. The kid had indeed hit a tender spot with his jab. Was he aware Rita was on the other side? Probably not. Dodger just shook his head. "I know she could be killed by them and I know you want to save her, but Angel's right. Going in without a plan of action in mind would be as good as declaring yourself dead. And we are NOT going to do anything reckless." his last words were directed at Mooch.

"I want to help Vitani just as much as you do. She's one of us, after all. But we can't just charge in there. Let Angel talk to Shang about it. If anyone's deciding who's going, it's him." he continued. The General surely would see that subtlety would be needed on a rescue mission.

Vixey nodded in agreement. "Going somewhere without a plan of action is suiside. Belive me." Vixey added thinking back to Clopin's death. "Anyway Scamp, you won't be going anywhere for a while. Not with these injuries." The vixen had inspected Scamp's injuries and knew they were bad. "What attacked you anyway?" she asked.

Georgette was walking in a tired way. Then she spotted angel with a pup who really needed medical attention, luckly her friend vixey was there, she knew medical stuff. Georgette ran to the others and looked at vixey "What's wrong with him? What happened?"

Mooch's eyes narrowed at the older dog and at Angel.

"I'm not letting you go ANYWHERE! Tani's MY friend," he pouted, stamping his paws in the dirt, "If anybody's gonna go talk to Shang, its ME! But we don't have any time for that!" He growled loudly at Angel. "Scamp, buddy, hang in there, okay?" His ears dropped as he placed his paw on Scamp's shoulder gently before placing back on the ground.

"I don't trust you enough, girl!" He spat at Angel. "You might just mess things up. You infiltrating the outlands would fail, epically." He was being immature but to be fair the pup was scared, nervous that Tani was already dead and they were too late.

"Like you'd do any better!" came Angel's sharp reply. She was also worried for 'Tani, and Mooch going alone would just invite disaster. "You don't know the first thing about subtltey. Wheras I've been training for this sort of thing."

Scamp watched his best friend and his ex argue. "I don't care who goes." he inturupted before Mooch could reply. "But you need to go now. They'll kill her..." he fell silent. "How about you two go together?" he suggested after a moment. In his mind, at least, Angel and Mooch together couldn't fail. Somehwere along that line of thought, he'd forgotten to take into account the fact that neither of them liked the other enough to cooperate together.

Georgette watched on the sidelines, nervous for the poor pup. She just let vixey and the one called mooch help him. Georgette silently prayed that the poor thing would be ok, along with that lion cub that was captured

Lady stumbled into the MASH, her muzzle choked with a ledger book. She had been heading to see Vixey if there was anything else needed for the week. Lady had done so well in her job, that the dog had to cut back on trips, or she threatened to put herself outta work! Few knew it, but the cocker had been becoming bolder in her travels. Going as far as to steal supplies from other army's camps.

It hadn't been a smooth ride either. The cocker had found one of the many wooden trestles that lifted her tracks above the gorges had collapsed one night. Any thoughts of sabotage where unfounded...the bridge was simply old, and had not been taken care of. Lady avoided that line like the plague.

Never mind that the young female's personal life had been a rollor coaster ride of emotions, deeling with the Tramp, and her mixed feelings for Cash.

So it was no surprise to see the girl drop the ledger at the sight of her one male pup, being bandaged.

"Oh heavens, what happened!" she yelped, running over the fallen ledger book and muscling her way between mooch and Angel. She looked to Vixey, brown eyes wide with fright.

"Is he okay, what happened to him?"

"Mom?" Scamp was completely thrown off his train of thought with Lady's entrance. "What's wrong?"
He inwardly slapped himself. Of all the stupid questions... what was wrong was evidently that he was bleeding all over the floor. "They took 'Tani back to the Outlands." he replied. "Scar's tiger attacked us and took her away." He could still remember 'Tani shoving him out of the way to take Khan's first blow herself. His own promise to protect her rang bitterly in his ears, and he hung his head. He'd failed.

"Psssh, yeah training. ALL of us have been training for this sort of thing puffball. Doesn't make you any better than me!" Mooch padded up to Angel, eyes narrowed, teeth in a gritted fashion ears perking slightly. He barely noticed Lady, he was too focused and angry at Angel.

"You are no better than any of us, puffball," he said, Angel's new nickname sticking for him, "I can do just as good a rescue job as you. And I will! I don't care what Shang says, I'm going after her!" He slammed his paw into the ground angrily trying to make a point.

Angel ground her teeth in frustration. At least Puffball was better than Angel-Cakes. Not a lot better, but some better.
"We've all been trained to fight." she replied, struggling to keep her temper in check. "I've been training specifically for such an infiltration. If you're going..." she thought back to Scamp's words, and inwardly grimaced - but she knew Mooch was dead set on going after 'Tani. "...I'd better come with you." she finished, reluctantly. Working with Mooch was not her idea of a good time, but... "You wouldn't last five minutes out there on your own."

"Wrong." Lady said sternly, too all present. "None of you are going anywhere."

She swung around to face Angel and Mooch. Her eyes, while not narrowed, held a stone cold resolve. She already had a pup laying bleeding, god forbid two more decide to get the stupid notion that they would go out on heir own to the same .

"You two are pups. Heaven knows you shouldn't even be out here." she said, a little bit more kindly. "there is no way any of the generals would authorize such a movement, and I know your not going to behind anyone's back to risk you're lives."

she looked back to Scamp, that same motherly look she would give him when she caught him scampering threw mud puddles, or knocking over end tables crossed on her face.

"I forbid either of you to leave this camp. The Generals will send a few adults out to find her."

"I agree with Lady completely. None of you should go to the outlands. We already have one pup mauled by a tiger, we don't need another one." Vixey said. She didn't want to lose any pups. They were all so young. The pups should be at home playing and running around. Not caught up in war.

Angel winced as if scolded. She knew it was no use arguing with Lady when she used that tone, and fell silent. Scamp, however, didn't have the same good sense.
"They're going to kill her, mom!" he protested. "We can't wait for General Shang to show up, or 'Tani will be dead before anyone can get there! I won't let that happen!"
Angel raised an eyebrow at Scamp. The desperation in his voice he spoke about 'Tani hinted at stronger feelings than just friendship there... although she wouldn't say as much to him.
