We've Gotta Get Her Back!

"and you will be dead too." Lady said, just as desperate. "Look at yourself, if one swipe of the claws did that to you, you don't think that the entire Outlands Army couldn't just outright skin you alive!"

she sat down next to Scamp, and started preening her pup, much as she used to do when he was much younger.

"General Shang is very smart, he will make sure she is rescued alive." Lady said, in a much kinder, gentler tone.

goodness, for being a grand army, it seems the only thing where good at is getting ourselves captured! Lady thought to herself, thinking about Audrey, and now this young lioness. There was no way she would let her pups go out into the same situation, she would go herself long before them.

Scamp squirmed a little in Lady's grasp, but didn't object otherwise.
"I know I couldn't go." Scamp replied. As much as he wished he could be the one to save 'Tani, he knew he was going nowhere with his muzzled as it was. "But we don't have time to get Shang! 'Tani said her mother would kill her on sight!
"Angel and Mooch could rescue her, no problem." he added, wishing he felt as confident as he sounded. If anyone could, he was sure, it was those two... just as long as they stopped arguing for long enough.

(OOC: We really need Shang to step in about now...)

Georgette stood up and said "Vixey and lady are right scamp, you're in bad condition. And I know this isn't entirely my business, but the general will just send adults to go get Tani, you really shouldn't go angel and mooch" Georgette felt slimy because this wasn't her business at all but since she was here she could at least say her opinion

Mooch winced. He...work with that puffball? The puffball who had broke Scamp's heart and didn't give him the time of day? No WAY....but he looked up at Scamp. He really needed them to go. He was in bad bad shape. Mooch lowered his head, growling at Georgette.

"Aww what do you know, miss priss," he said with a scoff under his breathe. He walked over to Angel, holding his paw up to cover his muzzle so he could whisper in her ear. "You think we can do it without going to Shang? We could be back before the stuffy old general even knows it! That is-" He lowered his paw and snorted. "If you can stand my company long enough to actually help Scamp." He meant for the comment to sting. He wanted her to know that despite the fact she was cute, she wasn't getting on his good side anytime soon.

Angel blew out a long breath. "Fine." she replied quietly. For Scamp and Tani's sake, she would tolerate him.
"But you've GOT to do what I say." she added. "I've done this before. You'll have to follow my lead." If necessary, she could pull her rank on Mooch, her being a Private and him just a cadet, but she hoped it wouldn't come to that.

(OOC: They're going to get into SO much trouble with Shang/The Great Prince when they get back )

"My ears may be long, but that doesn't mean my hearing is faulty." Lady scolded, turning to Angel and Mooch. The cocker spaniel padded over to where the two pups where standing.

"I said, you will wait for Shang young lady, and wait you will." her voice was unshaken, the same scolding motherly tone she had used many time in the past on her pups.

"Heaven knows what dangers are out there, and while I know you are a valuable fighter, going against a general's orders is insubordination. I forbid you to do anything, unless you are given Shang, or one of the other general's blessing."

Lady's eyes where narrow slits, driving threw Angel. The cocker wasn't going to let her adopted daughter take an unnecessary risk. While she agreed that something had to be done to rescue the lioness, it would be done by sound logic, and strategy, not by carelessly racing in like...well...like a young pup!

(OOC: sorry Angel, gonna make this as hard as I can )

Mooch grinned and snickered but inside he was hurting. For a few reasons. Ignored again by a woman but also because Angel, despite being adopted, was lucky enough to have a mother who cared about her enough to stop her from racing into the outlands blindly like an idiot. However the older dog hadn't said HE had to wait for Shang...

Carefully, he looked both ways and attempted to tiptoe past Lady and Angel, towards the tent door. She hadn't addressed him, hadn't told him he couldn't go. Which, despite hurting, in the young pup's mind gave him the opportunity and the permission to go by himself.

Angel's muzzle closed around Mooch's tail, not biting hard, but preventing him from going anywhere. "Unless you've got a death-wish, I suggest you wait for me." she hissed. She knew Mooch wouldn't last five minutes alone in the Outlands - and while she didn't like him, she wasn't about to let another of Scamp's friends get killed.
She turned back to Lady. She didn't WANT to have to do this... but she refused to leave 'Tani a prisoner - or worse - in the Outlands. She knew first hand what Scar's 'hospitality' was like. Her eyes were almost pleading as she looked at Lady.
"As a private, I outrank you." she said, quietly, almost reluctantly. "I could order you not to tell Shang." It wouldn't be insubordination - if Shang didn't know they were going, he couldn't tell them not to. No order given, then they wouldn't be disobeying it. At least, that was what she told herself, but she knew she was treading dangerous ground here.

Georgette was somewhat tempted to say something snippy to mooch back. She took a breath before she went to angel. She heard what angel had said about rank, and she would not allow angel to turn this into a firery fight "Look angel, you may be higher than your mom but she is STILL your mom, you will do as she says or I will....." She stooped her head down before saying "tell shang myself."

(OCC: ooooooh, georgette getting a little too carried away with this)

She's not my mom. That was the first thing to come to Angel's mind, and she nearly said it, too, before stopping herself. By birth, maybe not, but Lady was a mom to her, more so than her real mother had ever been.
"So, you'd just let Vitani suffer in the Outlands?" she retorted angrily. Vitani wasn't family - but she was close enough (And soon might be family, if Angel was reading Scamp's feelings for the young lioness correctly). "Some 'hero' you are."

Georgette said angerly "No! I don't but it's not worth going with just you two. Just let shang get a team out, I'm not saying forget tani, I'm saying just make a better plan one that doesn't involve with you two going alone" Georgette growled a little as angel snapped at her about being a "Hero" She lost her temper a little bit and yelled "Yknow if it weren't for me caring about you and my team. I WOULD JUST LET YOU GO THERE!"

Lady shook her head no, she agreed with the poodle, but she would hold Angel back with a little bit of strategy.

"Oh dear, I'm sorry Angel, but the rank thing is not going to work. Need I remind you that Shang outranks you, if asked, by order of rank, I would have to over-rule your command, and tell him. I can easily bring up the subject off handed, and he will ask."

Lady mouth was drawn thin against her muzzle. She didn't like putting her paw down on her daughter. She understood the fear of a fellow hero being held against her will. The cocker had a great fear of that situation, and as much as it hurt her to deny Angel the chance to do what they all longed to achieve, the cocker wouldn't let her adopted daughter fall into the same situation.

"Yes, she needs to be rescued, I'm not denying that. But rushing in emotion over paw will just get you caught too, and what use will you be then? You will be stuck alongside her!"

the cockers voice was a little high pitched, pleading.

"Mom," Scamp joined in, his voice a pleading whine. "Wey can't wait. 'Tani said her mother would kill her. They have to go now..." he lowered his head, his ears drooping miserbaly. "Or it'll be too late." He knew such a mission would put Angel's life at risk - but at that moment, he cared more about 'Tani's safety than hers. He still loved Angel, of course he did, but 'Tani was... something different. Special. He couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to her.

Lady lowered shook her head in defeat, her long ears swirling around her head with a fluid movement, she raised her muzzle up and said. "Oh dear, why did I raise such stubborn pups."

she turned to face Scamp. "You, young man, are not going anywhere."

she swung back around to face Angel and Mooch. "But...I guess I can't stop you entirety from going. The young girl does need to be rescued. But...on one condition." Lady opened her mouth as if to speak...but stopped, wondering if this was the right hing to do. If anything, the furry locomotive engineer would be a distraction...but, she was not going to let anything happen to the two pups.

"I go with you."

Angel's jaw dropped. This was the last thing she'd been expecting. She glanced across at Scamp, who seemed to be in a similar state of shock, and then at Mooch. Her first impulse was to argue - but it was 'Tani's life that was at stake here. "Alright." she replied instead, wondering just how Mooch would react to this.
