Well, she hadn't taken the arm clean off, but she'd certainly given the ape reason to take her seriously as a threat. The Chinese woman circled out of Vakasa's path as the gorilla staggered backwards, once again interposing herself between him and Wilbur. This could swing one of two ways, so far as she could see; the wounds could either drive the ape off, or simply enrage it further. Doubting that it would be the former, Mulan kept her guard up, determined not to be caught by surprise by the beast this time if he charged again.
Or, of course, he might simply call for backup, in which case Mulan harboured no illusions of getting out of this fight unharmed. One enraged brute, she could fend off - she'd managed it okay with Shan Yu, if that experience was anything to go by - but if he called more animals to his side, she didn't think she'd fare anywhere near so well. Not to mention that Shang would have her hide if she came back to camp wounded, Mulan was sure.
"You should retreat," she advised the gorilla, brandishing her sword in his direction to keep him at bay.

With everything else going on, Tramp realized everybody else was avoiding the raging elephant. He didn't blame them. He would have done the same thing, except now, the elephant could very easily seize one of the other Heroes while they were preoccupied with their own fights.
Cursing himself for a fool, the grey mutt darted forward, circling around to approach the enormous creature from behind. Once he was in a good position, he raced forward, looking to sink his teeth into Hathi's tail as hard as he could. It might not be the best plan, but it was far better than racing towards those tusks.

Tuk let his front legs hit the ground once more as Tanglemane backed off. Tuk couldn't have been more grateful to that, as he doubted he'd have been able to deal with the lion's razor sharp claws digging into his shoulders for much longer. The lingering pain was almost too much for the brown buck to handle.
As the lion lunged toward him once more, he had more time to act this time. He saw the lion's attack coming the time before, but Chinook had been in the way and he hadn't had as much time to react. Quickly leaping out of Tanglemane's range, Tuk looked the old lion over for a weak spot. He caught a brief glimpse of something shiny in the lion's main as it glared for a moment in the hot Pridelands sun.
There, that had to be a weak point. At the very least it had to hurt when pressed on harshly enough.
Seeing this as his only possible way of hurting the large feline. Tuk lowered his head, and scrapped the ground with his hoof. Tossing his antlers back and forth a time or two, he lunged. Aiming to more or less jam his antlers into the same place Chinook had his own, only Tuk intended to actually hit the lion.
