Shattered (Vitani, Mooch and Scamp centric)

Mooch turned to see his friends talking. He growled at Rueben.

"I'll deal with you later punk," he grumbled padding over to Scamp and 'Tani. He hunched his shoulders slightly as he crept up the them. He wasn't sure what was going on but he didn't like what was happening.

"Alright," he said his voice ringing with authority, "What's going on over here? 'Tani what's wrong? Ain't you having fun?"

Reuben grabbed Mooch by the scruff. "Listen you!" he said shaking Mooch, "I may not be your definition of cool, but I am trying to help you guys! I say i heard voices and am trying to keep you guys from getting hurt!" Reuben stared into Mooch's eyes. "Do you understand?" he asked.

Mooch was taken off guard by the alien's strength. His eyes widened with fear for about ten seconds before his eyes narrowed.

"GET OFFA ME you psycho yellow thing!" Mooch gasped. Mooch pulled away from the alien sharply. "Read my muzzle you crazy thing, there is NOTHING in here!" He walked back over to 'Tani and Scamp, he wanted to make sure she was okay.

Vitani shook her head, she had thrown him at least twenty clues and he had managed to put two and two together and get seven. This wasn't working.

"No Scamp." Vitani replied "I've never been a Pridelander, I only joined the pride a few weeks ago. I'm...I'm an...I'm an Outsider, Scamp. My family are the reason we're even standing here. My father's Scar and my mother is Zira! I'm...I'm a monster. I've done horrible things to innocent people! I almost killed Angel once! I'm evil, Scamp! If I slip up...I'll be just like him! Like Scar!"

Vitani's eyes instantly went to the floor, afraid of her friends' reactions.

Scamp stared, completely taken aback by the revelation. "But-but-but..." he managed, until at least part of 'Tani's words sunk in. "You hurt Angel?!" Before he even knew what he was doing, Scamp had tackled 'Tani, throwing her to the floor, before he caught hold of himself and pulled back, breathing hard.
"B-but you're here now, right?" he struggled against the words, torn between pity for her and anger that she'd been the one to wound his Angel so badly. He didn't know what to think. "That means you must be at least partly good... right?" he looked to Mooch for help, unsure just how much of what he was saying even HE believed, never mind anyone else. He wanted to help 'Tani, he really did - but how could he forgive what she'd done to Angel?

Vitani knew this would happen. She knew she had said too much when she had brought up Angel. Scamp hated her now she was sure. His words meant little to her, he had attacked and that was as good as telling her to run away and never come back.

Her heart broke. She was alone again. She clearly wasn't welcome anymore. She glanced sorrowfully at Mooch then back at Scamp.

Vitani rolled onto her front and pushed herself to her paws. Tears were starting to make her vision swim. Biting her lip she muttered

"I'm sorry Scamp. I'm so sorry." with a glance at Mooch she turned and ran out of the cavern and down the dark tunnel, into the never-ending darkness of the tunnels. Maybe she could get lost and not bother anyone again with her presence.

Scamp looked from Mooch to the direction 'Tani had disappeared in, then back again.
"I blew it, didn't I?" he asked awkwardly. He didn't know what he thought about 'Tani - but she'd been a friend when he needed it. Surely she couldn't be ALL evil? Without waiting for a response, he darted past Mooch and Reuben. "'Tani, wait!" he called, disappearing into the darkness in pursuit of her. "I didn't mean... please, come back!"

Reuben decided to follow Tani too. "You coming dog?" he scoffed at Mooch.

(ooc: dang Scamp you beat me to it, I was going to just that)

Vitani continued to run, ignoring Scamps yells to come back. She kept going into the darkness. Eventually she began to tire and slowed to a stop. She had taken several twists and turns and now was definately lost. All around her was darkness and silence.

"He He He!" Vitani's blood froze. They were here.

It wasn't long until Scamp was hopelessly lost in the dark. "'Tani?" he called, for about the twentieth time. He felt awful. He hadn't meant to become so... so angry.... "I didn't mean it, 'Tani! I don't know what I was thinking, really!"
The words felt familiar to his tongue, and reminded him of a past occaion. Just after Angel had been kicked out of the Junkyard Dogs because of him, how he'd instantly regretted it and gone searching for her...
No, don't think of Angel now. he chided himself.
Wait a minute... Angel! Of course!
Thinking of her reminded him of the item he had tucked in his collar. He pulled out the shard of crystal he'd been intending to give her - which glowed just as brightly now that it was seperate from the rest of the crystals. Feeling slightly more confident now, he started forward again.
"Tani, where are you?" he called, painfully aware that he'd lost her trail.

Vitani was frozen to the spot in fear. The cackling of the hyeans was reverberating off the cave walls, making it near impossible to determine exactly where it was coming from. She whirled around her eyes searching the darkness, in vain, for any sign of the hyenas.

She needed help. She shouldn't have left Scamp, Mooch and Reuben. She needed them.

"Tani!" Reuben yelled out. "Tani!" Just then with his sensitive hearing he heard the hyenas cackle, "I'm coming Tani!" and he took off down the tunnel.

(OOC: Reuben, Scamp's in a completely different part of the cave system to 'Tani. I'm thinking he actually headed off in the wrong direction when he tried to follow her... Either way, if Reuben's run into him, then they're nowhere near her. I think you should leave Scamp to his lost-ness for the moment.)

Mooch groaned. Why so much drama? Weren't they just here to have fun? He padded after his friends quickly trying to sniff them out. He may not have done his job on the farm but dang it if he didn't know how to seek out someone who was missing from his herd. He ran fast after the two pup, not knowing where they were.

He slid down a crystal slope and almost fell off of a cliff. He peered over the cliff and called out.

"TANI! SCAMP! LITTLE YELLOW DUDE?" He whimpered softly. He wa slost.

Yellow eyes flashed around Vitani. There were about six of them, eyes large and frightening, bodies full of muscle. One female and five males. The female clearly was leading them as in hyena society they often do. The leader was a beautiful silver which glinted in the crystal light.

"Oooooh, Chil'...." She said with a scolding tone on her heavily accented voice. Her companions giggled behind her. They were not clones of each other by any means, each having their own distinct look but all looked like they wanted to rip Vitani apart.

"You in trouble, chil'," she snapped, growing closer and closer to Vitani, "Where yo' friends at t' save ya? Nowhere? Awww, what a pity."

"You tell her Mama!" shouted one of the males.

"Hush up, boy," she said with a snarl, "I want dis one for myself. You all spread out'n find de others. I want that yellow one as well. Yer friend's so delicious looking it was hard t' wait, chil'."

The males laughed and took off into the darkness. One stayed behind and laughed loudly shaking the cavern walls.
