Shattered (Vitani, Mooch and Scamp centric)

Mooch heard the howls from the hyeans and followed the sound. His tracking ability was not off. He ran around corners, around crystals and found his way to his friends. His nose and his ears led him there.

"OH MAN!" He cried as he saw the hyenas. The little yellow dude was right! Mooch's ears pinned back and his fur bristled, showing his teeth. "Come on you creepers. I'll take you on all at once!!" Mooch reached out for the nearest hyenas leg, snapping down hard with his jaws.

Oh no, not good! Not good! Mooch had just gotten here and Vitani was still trying to distract the hyenas enough that they would come after her instead of her friends.

"Mooch!" Vitani called out, she couldn't see them but she knew they were there. They were risking life and limb for her.

The hyena he'd snapped at snapped back at Scamp and he yelped, retreating a step or two behing 'Tani bfeore stepping forward again in his attempt to - somehow - protect her. He ducked a swipe from the hyena's claws and bit down on the paw that had swiped at him. It was the hyena's turn to yelp. "'Tani, I'm sorry." he said, turning to look at her for a second before looking up, gasping and diving to one side to avoid the hyena that lunged for him. "I didn't mean it, 'Tani, honestly." then the hyena came back around for another attack, and all Scamp's attention became focused on simply keeping himself alive. There may only have been four of them, but it sure seemed like more there in the middle of the battle.

Vitani wanted to respond to Scamp but when she opened her mouth the hyena lunged for her and slammed her into the cave wall. All the wind was knocked out of her and her chest screamed in pain. She dropped to the cave floor and struggled to her paws again.

With a growl she charged at the hyena that was focused on Scamp. With a pouce she landed on his back and bit down on the back of his neck.

The hyena howled out loud. The female had back off a bit and was scowling loudly.

"You little brat!" She howled, walking around and around Vitani. "You are in trouble Girl, and Daddy is not here to stop me."

The other hyenas were howling and yowling in pain from the attacks of the pups and lioness. The one Vitani had jumped on was leaping about so the female leader could not get a good shot in. She would just have to wait.

Two males approached Mooch and laughing walked up to him pinning him in a corner.

CLONK! Reuben bashed the heads of the two together right before they pounced on Mooch. "Need some help?" He said with a smirk.

"Not from you!" Mooch barked, annoyed, "I could have handled that myself!" He walked behind the little yellow alien. Maybe if he hadn't been there they would have been exploring and playing fine. Maybe HE attracted the hyenas. Mooch growled low and spotted the hyenas by Scamp and Tani.

"Hold on guys! I'm coming!" Mooch, to prove himself right, rushed to Scamp and Tani and snapped at the legs of it before catching onto one. He crunched down hard, swearing, as he would tell the story to the dalmatians later, that he hit bone.

((ooc: Guys there aren't that many hyenas, we've been fighting loads. Right now lets say there are three left one of them being the leader.))

Vitani clung to the hyena growling and digging her claws into its back. She suddenly was flung back as Mooch dug his teeth into the hyena's leg. She retracted her claws and leapt off it's back.

She turned once more to aid Mooch, swiping at the hyena's other leg.

Feeling useless, Scamp cowered behind 'Tani. Aside from that one time with Reggie, he'd never had to fight anyone for real in his entire life, and he didn't know what to do. Then he caught sight of the final unacounted for hyena coming up behind 'Tani... and with a yell, he hurled himself at it, knocking both himself and the hyena to the ground. They rolled over, and came up with the hyena on top, pinning him. Scamp looked up into the set of dripping fangs. This wouldn't end well...

Vitani heard Scamp's yell and turned to see him being pinned to the ground by a hyena. A look of horror passed over her face then it was quickly replaced with fury. She knew she wouldn never be able to knock the hyena off him but maybe she could coax it into attacking her instead.

"Oi! Pea brain!" she yelled before taking a swipe at its back legs.

They were mostly defeated. All except for the female who gave Vitani and Scamp a look of pure spite and hatred. Lips curled over teeth as the hyena snarled loudly at them. But without a pack there was no way she was going to try to fight them. Her ears pinned back as she howled in anger.

"Let's go," she howled to the hyena who had Scamp pinned, "This fight is over." She gave a grin to Vitani. "You best be worried little girl. The moment your father gives the go ahead, we're coming for you." And with that she and the other hyenas bolted from the scene.

The moment the hyenas went into retreat, Scamp scrambled to his feet, wiping blood from a small cut on his chin, and made his way to 'Tani's side.
"Are you alright?" he asked awkwardly, refusing to meet her eyes, looking instead down at his own paws. "'Tani, I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean it... this was my fault." He didn't know how to feel about her, now that he knew that she'd hurt Angel... But she was still his friend. He thought back on her earlier words. "I... I don't think you're evil, 'Tani." He tried to reassure her, looking to Mooch for support.

Vitani growled after the hyenas as they made their escape, her sapphire eyes narrowed, their threat was just just empty words. Scamp's voice jolted her back to reality and she listened to him with a guilty expression. It had been her idea to come here, it was her responsiblity to make sure this place was safe...and she failed...miserably.

"I almost got us all killed." she said after a few minutes "I shouldn't have led us here...I knew there might've been hyenas around and I put us all in danger."

"If I hadn't overreacted, you wouldn't have run off." Scamp insisted. "We'd have been safe if we'd stuck together. It was my fault."
Before she had time to protest to that, he half changed the subject. "'Tani, you know I didn't mean it when I attacked you, right? W-we're still friends?"
She hurt Angel. YOUR Angel a voice deep inside whispered, but he silenced it quickly. In a way, that hardly mattered. He already valued 'Tani as a friend... no matter who she'd started off as.

Vitani turned to look at Scamp, he still wanted to be friends? She thought he would hate anyone who would hurt Angel...no matter who they were. A small bubble of hope rose in her and, although she tried to repress it, a small smile slowly spread on her muzzle.

"You still want to be friends?" she asked somewhat excitedly "Even though I've been a horrible lioness?" it was almost too good to be true!
